Agreement to Terms

By accessing and using the Rural Escapes Collection website and services (“Rural Escapes”, “we”, “us”, “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, you must refrain from using our services.

These Terms apply to users located in Italy, the European Union, the United States, and other jurisdictions, with Italian law governing the contractual relationship as specified below.

Services Description

Rural Escapes Collection operates as an independent travel advisory and concierge service specialising in curated countryside stays and bespoke travel planning in Italy.

Our services may include:

• Personal travel consultation

• Tailored itinerary and stay curation

• Property recommendations and introductions

• Coordination with accommodation providers and experience operators

• Pre-departure and in-stay advisory support

Rural Escapes does not act as a tour operator, package travel organiser, or online booking engine under Directive (EU) 2015/2302. We provide advisory and intermediary services only, unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing.

Service Fees and Payment

Advisory Fees:

Rural Escapes may charge consultation or planning fees depending on the scope of services requested. All fees will be clearly disclosed and accepted by the client prior to the commencement of services, in accordance with Italian and EU transparency requirements.

Additional Costs:

Accommodation, experiences, transportation, and third-party services are charged separately and are subject to supplier pricing, availability, and terms.

Payment Terms:

• Advisory fees are due prior to proposal delivery or confirmations

• Supplier payments follow the individual supplier’s payment schedules

• Advisory fees are non-refundable once services have commenced, except where mandatory consumer rights apply under applicable law

Right of Withdrawal (EU Consumers)

In accordance with EU Directive 2011/83/EU, consumers resident in the European Union may have a statutory right of withdrawal within 14 days of contract conclusion.

However, this right may be waived where the client expressly requests that advisory services begin immediately and acknowledges that the right of withdrawal will be lost once the service has been fully or partially performed.

Such waiver, where applicable, will be confirmed in writing prior to service commencement.

Booking, Changes, and Cancellations

Client Responsibilities:

Clients agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information for all travelers

• Review proposals and confirmations carefully

• Respond promptly to ensure availability and pricing

• Ensure passports, visas, and travel documents are valid

Cancellations and Changes:

• All bookings are subject to the cancellation and amendment policies of third-party suppliers

• Rural Escapes’ advisory fees remain non-refundable, except as required by mandatory law

• Changes requested after confirmation may incur additional advisory or supplier fees

• Travel insurance is strongly recommended

Role and Liability Limitations

Role of Rural Escapes:

Rural Escapes acts solely as an independent travel advisor and intermediary. We do not own, manage, or control accommodation providers, transport companies, or experience operators.

Rural Escapes is not responsible for:

• Acts, omissions, or failures of third-party suppliers

• Delays, cancellations, overbookings, or service disruptions

• Loss, theft, or damage to personal property

• Illness, injury, or accidents occurring during travel

• Events arising from force majeure

Limitation of Liability:

To the fullest extent permitted under Italian law and applicable EU and U.S. consumer protection regulations, Rural Escapes’ liability shall be limited to the amount of advisory fees paid by the client for the specific services giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by law.

Travel Insurance

Clients are strongly advised to obtain comprehensive travel insurance covering cancellations, medical expenses, personal liability, and unforeseen events. Rural Escapes bears no responsibility for losses that could reasonably be covered by insurance.

Intellectual Property

All content on the Rural Escapes Collection website, including text, images, branding, and materials, is protected under Italian, EU, and international intellectual property laws and remains the exclusive property of Rural Escapes or its licensors.

Client Conduct

Clients agree to:

• Respect local laws, customs, and cultural norms

• Behave respectfully toward hosts, suppliers, and communities

• Accept responsibility for their actions during travel

• Indemnify Rural Escapes against claims arising from client misconduct

Communication Policy

All confirmations, approvals, and instructions must be provided in writing via email or other agreed written channels. Rural Escapes is not responsible for misunderstandings arising from verbal communications.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with Italian law.

For consumers resident in the European Union, mandatory consumer protection rights under applicable local law remain unaffected.

Jurisdiction:

Any dispute shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Milan, Italy, unless otherwise required by mandatory consumer protection legislation.

Dispute Resolution

The parties agree to attempt amicable resolution of disputes prior to initiating legal proceedings.

EU consumers may also access the EU Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform where applicable.

Travel Supplier Terms

All travel arrangements are subject to the individual terms and conditions of third-party suppliers. Clients acknowledge that those terms form a separate contractual relationship between the client and the supplier.

Force Majeure

Rural Escapes shall not be liable for failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, pandemics, governmental actions, strikes, or similar events.

Privacy and Data Protection

Personal data is processed in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), Italian data protection law, and applicable U.S. privacy standards where relevant. Full details are available in our Privacy Policy.

Modifications

Rural Escapes reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated versions will apply to services booked after publication.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain valid and enforceable.

Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions, together with the Privacy Policy and any written service agreements, constitute the entire agreement between the client and Rural Escapes Collection.
